Is there anyway to hide certain plug ins in Studio One? Mainly just the Apple ones, gets old scrolling through a long list of plugs I'll NEVER use.
In Studio One preferences select Advanced then the Services tab, click the 'I'll be careful' button. Then you can, for instance, select 'AudioUnit Plug-in Support' and click Disable.
But that disables all AU plug ins, correct, I can't pick and choose? Edit- Doesn't look like it. But it did let me deselect VST plug ins too, which helped some. Thanks!
Yeah - it's not quite a solution for what you were asking. would definitely be nice to be able to selectively hide plugins in the browser. For VST plugins it must be possible - there's a 'Reset Blacklist' button in S1's preferences and a corresponding 'VstBlacklist.settings' xml file, presumably blacklisted plugins won't get loaded? but there's nothing in my blacklist file so I can't see what format the info should take.
The only way I can think is to actually hide them. Move them to a different folder. That way, if you use different daws, you can point a particular daw to the preferred folder for plugs. Could be quite time consuming, but its all I got. Matt Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 Win 10 64bit, 8GB RAM, Intel Xeon Lenovo Thinkpad E520, Windows 7 64bit, 8 GB RAM, Intel i5 Processor S1Pro V4
Ok, sounds like what I figured. Just thought I would check there wasn't an option to hide them S1 in case I was missing it.
| Actually I have got a question on this too. I installed a nice plugin which was free and it is a emulation of the old Roland JX8P synth. It all works fine and all. Except it had a rather long winded name. So I changed it to JX8P instead. That also works fine. Now even though there is only one plugin involved this plugin appears twice in the browser. The newly named one and the previous old named one. Nothing I have tried will remove the old named plugin. There is still only one plugin involved. It is no biggie but I have been wondering how to remove the older named plug. If you attempt to instigate it nothing happens that is all. Only the newly renamed plug in works now. (as expected) On Mathew's advice even removing this plugin and hiding it away somewhere else and rescanning etc wont remove either name. In that situation neither of them work because the plugin is not there then. I have simply put it back and all is fine except I have a second one listed that won’t work of course. The newly named one works fine again. Please add your specs to your SIGNATURE. Search the STUDIO ONE 4 ONLINE MANUAL. Access your MY.PRESONUS account. | Try to move the dll. close and restart, open a song or project, rt click in the browser and select rescan. Maybe? Matt Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 Win 10 64bit, 8GB RAM, Intel Xeon Lenovo Thinkpad E520, Windows 7 64bit, 8 GB RAM, Intel i5 Processor S1Pro V4 |
| I have a similar thing to Jemusic, its to do with all those damn plugins IK install when you just want one, I have tried deleting from the folder/folders and they a definitely gone but they still show in the browser, along with another freebie vst I demo'd and removed. | I have tried moving the DLL and rescanning etc and it still remains behind. In fact after moving the DLL and re scanning both names remain behind. Is there a file somewhere that contains the names of the plugins that you have scanned and show up in the browser. That would be the place to make the change. I have checked the reigstry as well and only the newly named plugin shows up there too. Right clicking on the unwanted name in the browser only brings up a refresh command. After doing a refresh it still shows up. This could be an issue that gets resolved in an update too. Please add your specs to your SIGNATURE. Search the STUDIO ONE 4 ONLINE MANUAL. | I have no idea if it applies (since I don't use a mac) but isn't an easy solution to just have those folded up? What am I missing here? |
There's nothing to fold, all the plugs appear in one long list, not nested in folders by type or manufacturer.
??? That doesn't seem right. Then again, like I said, I'm not mac. In PC win7 any plugin company is 'folded' where you don't have to open it unless you want a something from that manufacturer. So forgive me if I'm lost.
This is how it is on OSX.
to show hidden plugins go to Developers Tab in explorer, click on 'Tool' icon, and then detick the dot to showing the hidded one.
